Blaze Utz grew up in Round Rock, TX, where he picked up a knack for STEM subjects in grade school. While at UT Austin for his physics degree, he feel in love with classroom education and began a double major that eventually turned into a career path!
During his most recent placement, Blaze taught at Stony Point High School in Round Rock, TX, as a physics and engineering teacher. While there, he was also one of many sponsors for both Stony Point Robotics Team and Stony Point Solar Car Team.
Currently, Blaze is a doctoral student in STEM Education at UT Austin. His research interests include integrating engineering into K12 science and the experiences of minoritized undergraduates in STEM subjects. He also dabbles in other research, such as transdisciplinary civic learning in K12.
